Defining the Concept of Shared Services – Presentation to the Institute of Public Administration Shared Services in Government Conference – 10 September 2010
David Robjent presented to the IPAA Conference on Shared Services a paper that outlined alternative shared services operating models, lessons learnt by public sector agencies in implementing shared services and principles for determining the appropriateness of shared services for Government. The paper drew on his recent experience in reviewing shared services business cases for Central Commonwealth Agencies, the Attorney General’s Portfolio and Victorian Governments. The conference was attended by a variety of public sector managers and included presentations from the ACT Government, Department of Finance and De-regulation, Department of Human Services, Department of Defence and Crimtrac.

Institute of Chartered Accountants – Charter feature article July 2009
David Robjent has been appointed to the ACT Divisional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Grey Advantage has featured in the July issue of Charter, the ICA’s national magazine that has profiled the keys to success of a number of successful boutique consultancy and advisory practices.
 
Presentation on North-South Railway Feasibility Study
Public Private Partnerships in Transport conference. 30/31 July 2008
David Robjent presented to the Informa Public Private Partnerships in Transport Conference a paper outlining the key findings of the North-South Railway Feasibility study. The study examined options for the construction of a freight railway line between Melbourne and Brisbane. The results of the study have been accepted by both sides of government forming a key input to railway transport policy.

Presentation on Fleet Management
Fleet Management – Self manage or Outsource, Benefits and Pitfalls Australasian Fleet Managers Association – National Conference March 2008
David Robjent presented to the Australasian Fleet Managers Association a paper on the benefits and pitfalls of outsourcing fleet management based on his recent experience in advising the Victorian Government on whole of government fleet management options. AfMA is a not-for-profit organisation with more than 550 members throughout Australia and New Zealand. AfMA’s membership base is represented across all industries and the three levels of government and is responsible for the management of approximately 800,000 fleet vehicles.
